5:00 pm to 7:30 pm

The Abbington in Glen Ellyn

(Butterfield Road & Route 53)

Featured Speaker: Jim Pandolfi, Chairman DuPage Workforce Board

Presentation of the Robert Christ Affordable Housing Award to Carol Simler, Executive Director, DuPage PADS

WHAT: A cocktail reception celebrating DHOC’s 17 years of service to DuPage County.

One of the highlights of the evening is the presentation of The Robert Christ Affordable Housing Award, in memory of our founding Board President Robert Christ. It is presented annually to an individual or group who has made a significant contribution to affordable housing in DuPage County.

WHO: Among the guests at this event are community and civic leaders, employers, member lenders, local attorneys, title companies, Realtors, our government partners—DuPage County, HUD and the Illinois Housing Development authority and local social service agencies. Additionally, many of our clients join us for this once-a-year event. In fact, one of our speakers will be a family who purchased a home through our DuPage Homestead Program.

WHEN / WHERE: The event will be held on June 4, from 5-7:30 p.m. at Abbington Banquets on the southwest corner of Roosevelt and Route 53 in Glen Ellyn.

HOW: Ticket sales, donations and/or sponsorships support the services offered by the DuPage Homeownership Center, a HUD-certified housing counseling agency. For more information call Sheila McCann at (630) 260-2500 ext. 2507.

Since 1991, the DuPage Homeownership Center has been helping working class families - teachers, police officers, healthcare workers and so many more - achieve the dream of homeownership. Additionally, the Center provides free counseling for homeowners in danger of foreclosure and assists seniors with information on reverse mortgages, tax relief options and programs to help them stay in their homes. We are the only local agency providing education, counseling and innovative financing plans to help individuals and families achieve and preserve homeownership. Over 1,000 families use our services each year.
